MountainMed PRO · For schools & outdoor programs
Outdoor educators carry enormous responsibility with lean resources: WFR- and WFA-trained leaders, students far from definitive care, and administrators who expect a real medical safety system. We provide that system — sized to your program, not a hospital template.
The wraparound package
We review the protocols you have — or provide a set — written to the real scope of WFR and WFA trip leaders: clear decision points, evacuation triggers, and no interventions your people aren't trained to perform. Delivered on the platform: in the browser and offline on phones, version-controlled.
Participant screening forms and pre-trip checklists that surface the conditions that actually matter in the backcountry — asthma, allergies, diabetes, medications — before the trailhead, not at it.
If you want it: a practical session with your leaders before departure — scenario walk-throughs, kit review, and decision practice matched to your itinerary and the season's risks.
If you want a physician reachable while groups are in the field: arranged availability for real-time consultation, so a leader facing a hard call doesn't have to make it alone.
Who builds it
Dr. Patrick Fink is a board-certified emergency physician, fellowship-trained in wilderness medicine — and a former NOLS instructor who knows what a leader can and can't do at 2 a.m. in the rain with a sat phone and a WFR card. Programs get medical systems shaped by that reality.
